U14 Wrap Up

The latest round of fixtures in the U14 leagues in all four grades took place on Wednesday night. Donaghmore had an emphatic win over Clonoe with Ryan Cush [4-4], Branan Molloy [1-5] and Ciaran McGuckin [2-1] among their scorers on a night when they had excellent midfield performances from Ryan Daly and Conor McCrystal with Dermot McCann and Darragh McCann outstanding in the two central defensive positions. Moy were also in fine scoring form as they accounted for Brocagh by a comfortable margin with Ojan Jordan, Tom Loughran, Shane O’Hagan and Cormac Mallon all playing well for the winners.

Gortin had a comfortable win over Glenelly with Ryan Molloy in goals and Michael McMullan, Dara O’Hagan and Darren Sherrin all playing well for the St.Josephs. Galbally came out on top in a high scoring encounter at O’Neill Park against Dungannon with Daniel Kerr, Kieran Holland, Caoimhin Quinn and Mark Lennon all on target for the Pearses with Dalaigh Jones and James Morgan featuring on the score sheet for the Clarkes.

Derrylaughan maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a comfortable win over neighbours Ardboe. Tomas Carney [3-5], Caolan Corr [5], Paul Donnelly [1-0], Shay Gordon [3], James Donnelly [2-3] and Shay Ryan [1-0] were the Kevin Barrys scorers with Gavin Corr and Conor Donnelly in defence, Tomas Carney and Brian Kennedy in midfield and Paul Donnelly and Shay Gordon in attack all playing well. Dromore proved too strong for Cappagh with Emmett McNabb [3-6], Oran Sludden [3-3], Ryan McCusker [1-2], Nathan McCarron [1], Callum McCarron [1] and Cathair Goodwin getting their scores with keeper Luke McCusker, Padraig Quinn, Mark McGrade and Caolan Slevin in defence, Odhran Rafferty and Cathair Goodwin in midfield and McNabb, Sludden and McCusker in attack all playing well.

Strabane played host to Aghyaran and the Sigersons turned in an eye catching display to win with a bit to spare in the end. Adam Bonner [3-1], Tom McDermott [1-2], Paddy McGranaghan [2-2], Odhran McGrath [1-1], Jordan Gilloway [1-1] and Eoin Arbuckle [1-0] all scored for the Sigersons with Aidan Bonner and Tiernan McKnight playing well in defence with McDermott and Bonner the pick of the forwards. Castlederg defeated Drumquin with Darren Traynor, Conor Harper and Shane Carlin playing well in attack and Lorcan McGuigan, Conor Ramsey and Ben Harper turning in fine displays at the back. Cormac Rodgers [4], Stephen McGoldrick [1-0], James O’Kane [2] and Stephen Anthony [2] were the scorers for the Wolfe Tones.

Rock turned in an impressive display to beat Derrytresk with the Ward brothers Adrian and Lewis as well as Thomas Mackle and Conor Barrow playing well in defence, Shane Murphy hitting 1-4 from midfield along side partner Aidan Corrigan with Liam Nugent and Conor McGarrity playing well in attack on a night when their keeper Ryan McDonald gave a man of the match display. Moortown defeated Coalisland on a night when Sean Kelly and Emmett McGuigan were brilliant in defence, James Devlin controlled midfield and Tiarnan Hurl and Eunan Devlin played well in attack. Owen Roes took on Carrickmore but despite scores from Ryan Devine, Sean Kelly, Conal McCormack and Rory Donaghy and a superb display in defence from Mark McFadden they lost out.
