The Tyrone U16 post Primary Schools Champions are St.Joseph’s Coalisland after they overcame Dean Maguirc from Carrickmore in a wonderful game of football this afternoon. Played outside the county for the third time in four years it was the Carrickmore school
that got off to the perfect start. Cathaoir Gallagher found the net and Ciaran Daly extended the lead to five with two excellent frees.

St.Joseph’s however came into the game after that and drew level thanks to a Thomas Carney goal and a Shea Burke free. The Dean got back on top with a punched goal from Caolan Slean before St.Joseph’s bossed the remainder of the half. A second St Joseph’s goal from Ryan O’Neill and points from Carney, Burke and Bailey left them ahead by three at the break.

Conor Stock fired over a point from the restart but the Dean stayed in touch with scores from Daly and Ronan Lagan. St.Joseph’s had the final say of the game with a late, late Thomas Carney point from a forty-five securing the win.
