Ex Tyrone Player In Unique Fundraiser
Thursday 09.04.2020
A former Tyrone footballer is set to celebrate his 54th birthday on April 13th (Easter Monday ) by completing a marathon to raise money for staff comforts fund at the South West Hospital in Enniskillen and he certainly has a very good reason.
Omagh St Enda’s clubman Seanie Meyler, father of current Tyrone star Conor, will run the marathon in his garden shed on a borrowed treadmill all in support of a devoted wife and mother Paula. The Omagh woman is on the front line of the fight against the dreaded Coronavirus as a Nurse in the Intensive-Care Covid19 unit in the SWAH .
Speaking ahead of the novel marathon Seanie confirmed that his wife is doing sterling work at the present. “ Paula works with a team of dedicated and hard working nursing staff to give top class attention and nursing care to individuals who are in this high risk unit.”
Seanie enjoyed several seasons as a regular with the Tyrone side while son Conor is currently a key member of Mickey Harte’s squad, yet there’s no doubting that Paula is very much the hero of the house as a key frontline worker.
The funds raised will all go to a Comfort Fund for the Nursing Staff and donations can be made on a go fund me page accessible through the Omagh St Enda’s facebook page.
