Acadamh U17s Defeat Antrim in Ulster League

Tyrone U17 Academy side recorded a comfortable 1-16 to 0-8 win over Antrim in Garvaghey on Saturday afternoon. The Red Hands blasted out of the blocks and led 0-7 to a single point inside the opening sixteen minutes. Michael Conroy, Nathan Connolly and Ethan McHugh were all on target for Tyrone during that time. The scoring slowed down considerably after that point as Antrim began to find their feet thanks to point from Eoghain McMenamin and Shay Bovill. Tyrone did go into the break 1-8 to 0-3 ahead thanks to a superb strike from wing half forward Cormac Donaghy after a sublime pass from Michael Conroy.

After the half time break Antrim took control of the game and narrowed the gap to seven points by the forty minute mark. McMenamin, Bovill and Aaron McNeilly all recording scores for the Saffrons during this period. From that point forward Tyrone regained control and finished the game strong thanks to further points from Ryan McCabe, Matthew Murnahan, Michael Conroy and Caolan Slevin.
