St.Patricks Academy Dungannon will carry the Tyrone flag in the semi finals of the MacRory Cup after Omagh CBS lost out to St.Marys Magherafelt in their last eight tie on Saturday. The Academy have been paired with old adversaries St.Michaels Enniskillen in what has all the makings of a cracking encounter. It’s a repeat of the MacCormick Cup final back in December when Enniskillen won 1-10 to 2-3 but that will count for nothing here. It’s the third time in the last four seasons that these two have clashed in the knockout stages of the blue ribbon event in Colleges football and the Academy will be hoping for a hat trick after winning the final in 2008 and the quarter final clash twelve months later. Trillick duo Rory Brennan and Richard Donnelly are on the St.Michaels side with the latter coming up against All Ireland minor winning team mates Mark McReynolds, Eunan Deeney, Shea McGarrity, Harry Og Conlon, Keifer Morgan, Liam Gervin, Sean Quinn and Ryan Devlin. St.Marys Magherafelt will face Hogan Cup holders St.Colmans Newry in the other semi final with both games down for decision in a fortnight’s time.
