St.Patricks Academy Dungannon’s hopes of qualifying for the quarter finals of the Corn na Og are hanging by a thread after they shipped a heavy defeat at the hands of St.Michaels Enniskillen at Pomeroy on Wednesday afternoon. The Erne lads dominated from start to finish and were well on their way to victory when they led 3-6 to 1-1 at the break, Enda McGarrity with the Dungannon goal and Cormac O’Hagan getting their point. St.Michaels reeled off the opening six points of the second half and after that there was no way back for Dungannon. McGarrity, Aidan Gavin and Lorcan Mallon had Dungannon’s second half points while substitute Fintan McClure grabbed a goal but it was only a consolation score at that stage. Dungannon now play St.Macartans in their final group game next week, the Monaghan men having beaten Enniskillen already in the competition so it shows the task facing the Tyrone lads.
