What we know…

A 2-8 to 0-5 win for Owen Roes over Newtownstewart today confirms them as Junior Football League champions for 2017. Kevin Gallagher (3), Damien Donnelly (1) and Piaras Mc Sorley (1) did the scoring for the St Eugene’s. Ryan Mc Aleer’s first half goal put the home side in a strong position and when Gerard Mc Shane sent a screamer to the net late on it was well and truly time to start celebrating the league title and promotion to Division Two.

Brocagh finished their season in style with a high scoring win over a struggling Killeeshil side. The Emmetts bagged four goals in each half with Mickey Hughes hitting a hat trick while Ciaran Campbell, (2), Ciaran Donnelly (1), James Mc Kiver (1) and Cathal Donnelly (1) accounted for the other majors. On another disappointing day for Killeeshil Liam Hughes and Pascal Donaghy both hit four points while Ciaran Rafferty, Conor Donaghy, Shea and Cathal Skeffington were also on target.

Dregish won the bragging rights in the basement battle with neighbours Drumquin 0-14 to 0-10. Stevie Breen hit five points for the winners while Barry Devenney (3), Niall O’Kane (2) and Cathal Rodgers (2) were also on target. Frankie Mc Alynn top scored for the Wolfe Tones with 0-5 while Eamon Teague landed a brace.

Killyman enjoyed a morale boosting win over Brackaville on a 3-14 to 0-10 score line. Goals from Michael Donnelly (2) and Ronan Mc Veigh proved crucial while points from Ciaran Og Hughes, Owen O’Rourke, Michael Donnelly and Darragh Morgan helped keep Brackaville at bay. Sean Day, Shea Fee and Mickey Mc Geary were among the scorers for the Owen Roes.

In another local derby Clan na nGael had seven points to spare over Glenelly after the Clans men led 0-5 to 0-3 at the break. Niall Kerlin finished the day with 1-1 for the winners while Danny Ball (4), Joe Ball (3) and Gareth Mc Dermott (3) accounted for their points.

Tattyreagh enjoyed a convincing win over parish rivals Drumragh. Goals from Robert Porter, Peadar Mullen and Colly Harkin were crucial to the outcome of the game while Johnny Harkin and James Darcy were responsible for eight Tattyreagh points between them. Shane Cleary and Martin Taggart both hit the net for the Sarsfields while Cleary also knocked over six points for his team. However on the day Tattyreagh were deserving winners.

Errigal Ciaran locked horns with neighbours Beragh on Saturday before emerging with a narrow one point win on a final score of 2-9 to 1-11. Michael Harte bagged 2-1 for the winners while Caolan Tierney (3) and Aodhan Mc Cullough (2) were also on target.

Clogher goal machine Fergal Mc Kenna was in fine form hitting 3-3 for the Eire Ogs in their 4-11 to 2-10 victory over Fintona. Ryan Mc Caughey also managed to bag a goal while Jamie Callaghan and Conor Shields each landed a brace of points. Three first half goals virtually assured Clogher of the win. Aaron Mc Carney hit 2-8 of his team’s total while Niall Mellon and Cathal Starrs were among the points in what was an improved display from the Pearses.
