Killeeshil 1-12 Brackaville 0-8

Killeeshil defeated Brackaville by seven points on a day when the visitors looked well under par. Dale Mc Sorley was responsible for seven of his team’s points while Shea Fee got the other. Tomás Hoy top scored for the winners with 1-3 while Aaron Mc Kenna (3) and Pascal Donaghy (2) hit five between them.

Eskra entertained Errigal Thirds in their derby clash at the weekend and came away with a comfortable win. Joe Mc Carroll (2-4) and Paul Turbitt (2-1) both hit a brace of goals for the Emmetts while Niall Marlow (1-1) also got in on the goal scoring act. Barry Donnelly netted twice for Errigal while Daniel Blake (3), Michael Harte (2) and Sean Mellon were also on target.

Two teams badly in need of points fought out a high scoring draw as Dregish and Killyman drew 1-14 apiece. Dregish led 0-10 to 0-6 at the break but Killyman, who had a goal disallowed in the first half, fought hard after the break to secure a draw. Michael Donnelly (6) and Enda Mc Gahan (5) top scored for Killyman while Luke Roche, Brian Òg O’Rourke, Adam Cullen and Conor O’Rourke (1-0) were also on target. Dregish were more than a little relieved when deep in injury time Aidan O’Kane converted a free to level the game and secure a draw for his team. O’Kane hit 1-11 of his team’s total while Cathal Rodgers, Peter Mc Crossan and Niall O’Kane scored a point apiece.

Derrytresk defeated Rock by two points having led at the break by four. A goal shortly after the break from Rock’s Eoin Gallagher gave his side a real shot in the arm. Liam Nugent hit three points for Rock but the Hill Men, for whom Niall Gavin hit 0-10, managed to maintain their lead right to the final whistle.

Drumquin found Kildress a bit too hot to handle on a Sunday afternoon suffering a thirteen point defeat to an improving Wolfe Tones side. Kildress dominated the first half building up a 1-9 to 0-2 lead at the break. Sean Mc Donagh hit 2-2 for his team in the second half but Kildress proved just too strong on the day. Philip Lennon top scored for the winners with 1-5 while Matthew Mc Guigan (7), Enda Mc Aleer (1-0) and veteran Des Tracey (2) were also on target.

Castlederg made the journey to Plumbridge for their derby clash and came away with a three point win after a tough encounter with Glenelly. Mark Corry landed six points for the Derg while Bradley Devine (1-2) and Paddy Lynch got the all important goals. Cormac Mc Connell hit the net twice for the home side and  Ronan O’Kane scored six points in a game where Castlederg led 1-7 to 0-5 at the break.

Friday night’s game saw Drumragh host Aghaloo at Clanabogan. The home side dominated the opening ten minutes and with Shane Cleary in fine form they led 0-4 to 0-1 with eleven minutes on the clock. Unfortunately for the Sarsfields that was as good as it got. Aghaloo goaled three times inside the next four minutes to turn the game on its head with Niall Mc Elroy (2) and Ruairi Mc Glone finding the net. Drumragh added two further points before the break but it was clear even at that stage that there would be only one winner. Mc Elroy added another major for Aghaloo after the break while Gareth Haughey hit the net for Drumragh but there was little he or his team mates could do to prevent Micky Donnelly’s side from claiming another two points.
