ACL Division 3 Results

Tattyreagh 1-13 Clogher 1-11
Brockagh 2-7 Beragh 2-6
Errigal Ciaran v Aghaloo
Drumquin 1-11 Fintona 1-5
Newtownstewart 0-20 Killyman 0-10
Castlederg 1-8 Dregish 0-8

Newtownstewart enjoyed a double score win over Killyman on Sunday with Brendan Boyle hitting eight of his side’s points as they finished 0-20 to 0-10 winners.

There was little between the teams in the first half with Killyman’s Micky Donnelly and Enda Mc Gahan swapping scores with Brendan Boyle, Kevin Gallagher and Pearse Canning as the teams reached the break tied 0-6 apiece.

The sides were tied again early in the second half 0-8 each before a Shane Mc Gahan score put Killyman in front for the last time. Indeed they only added one further score in the game as Newtownstewart dominated from there on. Boyle, Michael Corless, Damien Coyle and Paul Huston were among the scorers as the St Eugene’s ran out comfortable ten point winners.

Drumquin enjoyed a 1-13 to 1-5 win over a disappointing Fintona side that failed to score after the break. The Pearses will look back on this one and wonder what went wrong in the second half after they reached the break 1-5 to 0-7 in front.  Their goal came from Nathan Deane while Aaron Mc Carney, Liam Mc Cann and Liam Maguire hit their points.

After a reasonable first period the home team upped the pace in the second half hitting 1-6 without reply as they completely dominated play. Eamon Teague opened their scoring immediately after the restart and added a goal on forty two minutes to effectively end the game as a contest. Paul Sheridan, Ryan Mc Callion, Packie O’Kane, Barry Gormley and Frankie Mc Alynn were also among the points for the winners.

It was a close call between Brocagh and Beragh on Sunday as a last minute penalty from Justin Campbell ensured that the points went to Brocagh 2-7 to 2-6.

This smash and grab win came after the Red Knights hit the net late in the game through Hugh Franey to lead for the first time. Oisin Donnelly found the net for Beragh at the end of the first half as the short whistle sounded with Brocagh leading 1-5 to 1-2.

Mickey Hughes top scored for the Emmetts in the first half with 1-2 but all the talk at the end was the brace of late goals that firstly swung the game in Beragh’s favour before the Red Knights had victory snatched from them courtesy of Campbell’s converted penalty for Brocagh. Once again Martin Rogers (0-5) top scored for Beragh.

Glenelly defeated Drumragh by two points 0-9 to 0-7 with Seamus Harkin once again showing his worth to the team hitting four points for the Plumbridge based outfit. The teams were separated by a singl point at the break 0-6 to 0-5 but in a tight but low scoring second half, Glenelly’s ability to make the best use of their chances proved decisive.

Colm Hicks, Barry Mc Connell and Ronan O’Kane among the points for the winners as Glenelly maintained their good run of form at home. Tommy Murphy, Shane Cleary, Gareth Starrs and Marty Taggart were on target for Drumragh.
