Sun 15th Apr 2019

Rock 1-14 Errigal Ciaran 1-7 (Saturday)
Brockagh 0-8 Drumragh 1-5
Castlederg 5-10 Dregish 0-2
Clann na nGael 0-5 Aghaloo 2-14
Drumquin 4-5 Fintona 0-11
Eskra 1-6 Derrytresk 1-8
Kildress 2-7 Killeeshil 3-7
Killyman 0-9 Brackaville 3-9

Derrytresk had two points to spare in their win over Eskra. Paudie Bell top scored for the winners with 1-1 while mister reliable Niall Gavin contributed two points to  his team’s tally. Eskra struggled for scores in the first half and even a NIall Marlowe goal midway through the second half failed to really ignite their challenge.

Aghaloo made the long journey to North Tyrone for their clash with Clan na nGael and enjoyed a comfortable win. Niall Mc Elroy was the top scorer with 1-5 while Tiarnan Donnelly (5) and Conor Mullen (1-2) contributed well to their team’s total. On a disappointing day for the home side Gareth Mc Dermott and Joe Ball got their scores.

Kildress are finding life in Division Two anything but easy going as they lost at home to Killeeshil by a goal on a 3-7 to 2-7 score line. Veteran Gary Reilly bagged two goals for the winners while Pascal Donaghy landed five points and Mattie Mc Cusker also found the net for the winners.

The parish derby between Dregish and Castlederg proved a rather one sided affair as the Derg eased to a 5-10 to 0-2 win. Both sides observed a minute’s silence for the late RJ Catterson who contributed so much to the two clubs over the years. Mark Corry hit 2-5 for the winners who led by eleven at the break. Paidraig Keyes, Darren Traynor and Caolan Harvey also found the net for Castlederg.

Brocagh and Drumragh played out an entertaining draw in difficult conditions on Sunday afternoon. After a low scoring first half Brocagh led 0-6 to 1-2 with Michael Carolan, Ciaran Donnelly, Cathal Donnelly and Owen Canavan on target for the Emmetts. In difficult conditions Brocagh only managed two second half points as the Sarsfields fought back to earn a draw. Benny Drumm (1-0) and Shane Cleary (0-3) ensured that Drumragh took something from the game.

Drumquin bounced back from last week’s loss to Drumragh with a win over neighbours Fintona. The old saying that goals win games proved true in this case with four Drumquin goals helping the Tones to a six point win. Sean Mc Donagh goaled twice in the first half to help his side lead 2-3 to 0-5 at the break while Cathal Colton’s goal three minutes from times put the game beyond Fintona before Paul Sheridan added his team’s fourth major. On a day to forget for the Pearses Aaron Mc Carney hit seven of his team’s eleven points.

Killyman hosted Brackaville but found the improving Owen Roes a bit too hot to handle. Once again Dale Mc Sorley had his shooting boots on landing 1-3 while Shay Fee (1-2) and Marty Gervin (1-2) were also among the scores. Enda Mc Gahan was scorer in chief for Killyman with 0-4 while Ryan Mc Kenna hit 0-2.

Rock defeated Errigal Thirds by seven points on Saturday after a very competitive encounter. Liam Nugent was scorer in chief for Rock with a personal tally of 1-5. The winners led by five at the break 1-7 to 0-5 and with Nugent, Aidan Mc Garrity (4) and Shane Murphy (2) in fine form they added seven points to their first half total. Errigal’s goal in the second half came from the penalty spot courtesy of Patrick Mc Dermott who finished with 1-1 while Sean Mellon, Damien Mc Dermott, Niall Cassidy, Daniel Blake, Ronan Tierney and Jody Farrell were all on target for Errigal.
