The game of the opening round brought together Edendork and Pomeroy at Arthur Mallon Park and it was the visitors who prevailed on a 1-17 to 1-14 scoreline. Ronan Duffin got the Plunketts goal from the penalty spot and he also added a few points with Ryan Loughran and Hugh McNamee also on target. Emmet Hughes top scored for Edendork with Jake Ferguson getting a few points as well and Rian Nelis bagging their goal.

Rock made the short trip to Pearse Park to take on neighbours Galbally and it was the home side who came out on top with a bit to spare. Conor Donaghy proved unerring from frees all night for the Pearses and he also got a late goal with Enda McGarrity, Mark Donnelly and Ronan Nugent all finding the net for the winners as well. Conor McCreesh and Aidan McGarrity were among the points for Rock with Paudie Ward getting their goal.

Aghyaran held off a spirited second half comeback from Owen Roes to win by the minimum margin. Ronan McHugh, Tiarnan McSorley, Ethan McHugh and Conor McHugh were among the scorers for the St.Davogs who managed only two second half points. Conall McCormick, Conor O’Neill, Tony Devine and Niall McAleer all weighed in with second half points for Owen Roes but their efforts just came up short.

Eglish had to pull out all the stops to secure a win at home to a battling Clogher side. Ethan Jordan was in outstanding form for the St.Patricks with his scoring return going into double digits with Seamus Muldoon and Matthew McGleenan also on target and Dan Muldoon getting the all important only goal of the game. Ciaran Bogue, Ryan McCaughey, Mark Bogue, Marc McConnell and Darragh Mellon all finished on the scoresheet for the Eire Ogs.

Naomh Eoghan made the trip to Tattyreagh and they came away with the two points after an eye catching display. Tiernan Mayse got both goals for the visitors with Aidan McSorley and Kevin Gallagher among their points. Jarleth McDonagh got the Tattyreagh major with points coming from James Darcy and Caolan McDonagh.

Killeeshil got the only goals of the game but it wasn’t enough on the night as Gortin made home advantage count to edge the verdict 0-13 to 2-5. Eoghan McGarvey, Ruairi Keenan, Odhran Brolly and Brian McGarvey were among the points for the winners while Pascal Donaghy and Jason Doyle got the Killeeshil goals and Tomas Hoy was among their point scorers.

It finished all square in Cookstown when Eskra came to Town, 0-10 apiece. Joe McCarroll, Peter Hughes and Eoin McCaffery were among the points for the Emmetts who looked set for victory going into injury time. Niall McMurray, Martin Murray and Matthew Carberry featured among the points for the Father Rocks with the latter getting a late equaliser from a placed ball.

Beragh got their campaign off to a winning start on home soil when they got the better of Kildress. Niall Owens got the Red Knights goal with Cathal Owens, Conor Owens, Martin Rodgers and Oran Treacy all contributing points. Corey Holland and Shea Quinn both found the net for the Wolfe Tones while Mattie McGuigan and Shea Murphy were among the points but it wasn’t enough on the night for the visitors.
