Division three saw Castlederg continue their good form with a hard fought 0-11 to 1-4 win over Killyman. Mark Corry and Paddy Lynch did most of the scoring for the winners who were pushed all the way by a gallant Killyman side. Enda Mc Gahan hit three first half frees for the visitors while Caomhan Mc Gahan’s goal midway through the second half kept his team in the game right up to the end.
Beragh enjoyed a six point win over an improving Fintona side for whom Cathal Moore scored 1-6. The Red Knights led 0-7 to 0-5 at the break with Niall Owens, Sean Mc Mahon, Ben Mc Sorley and Martin Rodgers on target. The Pearses closed the gap with a well worked goal from Moore but Beragh responded almost immediately as Jack Campbell took a pass from Martin Rodgers to find the net. Further points from Campbell and Oisin Donnelly helped ease the home team to a convincing win.
Local rivals Drumquin and Drumragh served up an entertaining encounter before the Sarsfields emerged victorious. Goals in either half from Tommy Mullan and Martin Taggart ensured Drumragh continued their recent fine run of form. On a day to forget for Drumquin Barry Gormley top scored for his team with 0-6. Final score: Drumragh 2-14, Drumquin 0-11.
Dregish had three points to spare over Errigal Thirds on Saturday with Tony Quinn and Stevie Breen accounting for six of their team’s points in their 0-11 to 0-8 win. Peter Mc Cartan top scored for Errigal while Dara Tierney and Nigel Loughran both bagged a brace of points .
Owen Roes continue to lead the way in North Tyrone defeating rivals and neighbours Glenelly by five clear goals 5-10 to 0-10. Four first half goals from the home side including one from county man Cathal Mc Shane after fifteen seconds sealed the win for the home team. Mc Shane finished with 2-5 on the day while Tony Devine accounted for a further 1-3 of the winner’s total. Once again Seamus Harkin was corer in chief for Glenelly with 0-6.
Newtownstewart made the long run to Brocagh and came back from six points down late in the game to record a 2-16 to 4-7 win over the Emmetts. Brocagh enjoyed the perfect start with a Mickey Hughes goal after two minutes and another from Cathal Donnelly but Ryan Mayse hit the net for Newtown and they reached the break only two in arrears. James Mc Kiver and Hughes added second half goals but late scores from Aidan Mc Sorley and Mayse as well as 1-2 deep in injury time from Brendan Boyle sealed the win for Newtown.
