ACL | Errigal Move Into Third After Win Over Augher
Friday 12.06.2015
Errigal Ciaran travelled to Augher on Friday evening and came away with both points thanks mainly to their ability to find the net. Augher led after 0-2 to 0-0 after three minutes thanks to points from Daire Kavanagh and Declan Connolly but Errigal responded with points of their own via Tommy Canavan and Daisey McDermot to lead after ten minutes. Ronan McCrory landed the first of Errigal’s four majors in the 16th minute and a goal from Brian Horisk a short time later eased them further ahead. By half time Errigal had a 2-5 to 0-7 lead.
After the break a Declan Connolly goal and two points from Daire Kavanagh brought Augher level with Errigal on 42 minutes. However Errigal pushed on after that a goal from Daisy McDermot was followed up with points from Tommy Canavan before Canavan himself slotted home a penalty with seven minutes left to go. A couple of late Ryan Lynch points sealed the win for Errigal. The scoreline might suggest different but Augher made them fight hard for the win this evening.
