Aghaloo made the long run to Glenelly on Tuesday night and after plundering a brace of final quarter goals courtesy of Ruairi Mc Glone headed back down the road with the points following a 2-10 to 0-9 win.

The home side were well in the game at the break leading 0-5 to 0-4 after points from Nathan Mc Laughlin, Cormac Mc Bride, Ronan O’Kane and Conor Mc Aneney.

Things looked even better after early second half points from Conor Mc Aneney and Lorcan Mc Cullagh put Glenelly three clear. However from then until the end they were out fought and outscored by their opponents. Niall Mc Elroy, Tiarnan Donnelly and Niall Henderson fired over points to reduce the deficit before the first of Ruairi Mc Glone’s goals put Aghaloo in front.

With the game entering the final ten minutes Aghaloo upped the pace and Glenelly just could not match them. The visitors were sharper in the tackle and more creative in possession. Mc Glone hit the net for his second goal with seven minutes remaining and Niall Mc Elroy rounded off a good evening for his team with three fine points to seal a fairly comfortable victory for the south Tyrone side.

Final score: Glenelly 0-9, Aghaloo 2-10
