1. Earliest GAA memory.

Going to the Tyrone Summer Camps up at Aghyaran. Won player of the camp and I thought I was Peter Canavan.

2. Was your family a traditional GAA family? Yeah I would say we are. Dad lived in Glasgow for years so he didn’t play but fell in love with it and is GAA in the head now. Mum reckons she played a bit of camogie. Never missed a Tyrone match.

3. The best venue you have been to?

Croke Park – What a stadium. Fitzgerald Stadium was also deadly.

4. School participation and/or success.

Got to a MacRory Cup final in 2014 with Omagh CBS. Were beaten by St Pats Maghera.

5. Club/ County role models that you looked up to as a youth?

Peter Canavan, Micky Anderson, Shane Sweeney, Owen Devine and Marty Penrose.

6. Other sports that you played or had an interest in?

Play a bit of soccer for Cappry Rovers. Love watching soccer. Started watching basketball over the last few years thanks to Conall McCann.

7. Most difficult opponent you have faced in club football and why?

Have been marked by plenty of good players. Hugh Pat McGeary and Brendan Burns are both difficult. You wouldn’t tell them that though. Especially not Hugh Pat his heads big enough.

8. Best player you have ever seen play Gaelic football?

Peter Canavan. Love watching Conor McManus as well. Some of the points he kicks are ridiculous.

9. Are you a fan of the recent rule changes?

I am for them. Probably complicates things a bit more for referees but as a forward I like the advanced mark. All we need now is boys to kick it in…

10. One suggestion that you think might improve the game?

Shorter seasons. You want to be playing football in the summer. Playing football at the end of November isn’t ideal.

11. Are you a fan of academies/development squads?

Undecided on this. Gives young players a chance to develop. But there’s also young lads playing club, county and for schools and it’s too much. I didn’t make many of them as I was always considered too small and it can be hard to take at that age.

12. Your own involvement around the club.

Just a player at the minute. Not much time for anything else. Have helped coach u6s and u8s.

13. How important is the GAA in your community?

It’s very important in Aghyaran. For the population of Aghyaran we are doing well. A lot of money has been put into it. Our facilities are as good as anywhere in Tyrone. Just need our main pitch sorted.

14. Favourite county jersey?

Wexford or Kildare.

15. Are you a fan of penalties to decide the outcome of championship games? Yes I am. I love the excitement from them. Someone has to lose.
