Gemma Begley was in outstanding form for Carrickmore in their Intermediate preliminary game with Dromore on Thursday night. The former Tyrone ace hit 1-7 for her side from a total of 3-18 but it was her contribution in open play that was most impressive.

Carrickmore raced into a 3-10 to 0-2 first half lead with goals from Begley and Clare Mc Gurk (2). Defensively Roisin Devlin and Aimee Fox were in fine form while Megan Mc Cann and Begley were hugely impressive in the forward line.

Grainne Mc Rory battled hard for Dromore in the middle of the Park but the Naomh Davogs found Carrickmore a bit too hot to handle overall. The pace of the game slackened somewhat after the break as Carrickmore controlled possession and prevented Dromore from establishing any sort of foothold or gaining momentum.
