All County Leagues Ready To Roll.

It promises to be a hugely busy weekend for all clubs in Tyrone with the start of the All County League on Sunday evening. However even before a ball is kicked in anger in any of the three divisions many of the clubs across the county will find themselves heavily involved in the Feile competitions taking place on Saturday. This unique form of competition for the under fourteen age group generates a huge amount of interest and enthusiasm and for the team that eventually wins the county title there is the chance to go forward and represent Tyrone in the All Ireland Feile which this year will be held in Cork.

Before that however there is the simple matter of the various sectional games to be played off and all will get underway tomorrow morning at eight different venues across the county. There will be a Grade 1 Feile and a separate stand alone Grade 2 Feile played tomorrow and for anyone who takes the time to get along to any of the venues, the standard of football will make the effort worth while.

For the vast majority of GAA followers in the county however the real action gets underway on Sunday evening with the start of the 2011 league. Last year’s Division 1 Champions Errigal Ciaran will be expected to once again be setting the pace but it will be interesting to see how the teams coming up from Intermediate football fare. Derrylaughan, Moortown and Eglish all know the importance of making a positive start if they are to be in with a chance of establishing themselves as genuine senior sides.

In Division Two Aghyaran, Galbally and Kildress are expected by many to be competing for an immediate return to senior football but they will face plenty of challenges in a league which has historically seen very little between the teams at the top and the bottom.

For most of the teams in Division Three a good start is vital and a win on the first day out is a massive shot in the arm. Aghaloo and Killeeshil came down from Intermediate last year and are tipped to do well but expect Fintona, Brockagh and Drumquin to push them all the way.

Regardless of how the leagues go we will keep you up to date and informed with match reports and scorers from all three divisions on this and every Sunday evening.
