All Ireland Golf Challenge

For those GAA followers who play a bit of golf and are keen on being involved in some fund raising for a really good cause then this event could be for you.

TTM hosted a podcast and discussion with two of the main men involved in organising this great event which has always been superbly supported by Tyrone GAA clubs and by clubs all across Ulster.

Declan Devine from Castlederg and Liam Daniels from Dunhill in County Waterford chatted with us about this year’s challenge which should have a special interest to Tyrone clubs especially.

This year the Challenge will support Catriona Mc Gahan and all support will be gratefully received.

The Circet All-Ireland GAA Golf Challenge takes place in Killarney on the 15th and 16rh October 2026. This Golf challenge brings together GAA people from across Ireland with the aim of raising funds for a member of the GAA needing assistance.

The main beneficiary this year is Catriona McGahan, former Tyrone and Ulster player. Catriona also played GAA with the Galbally Oonagh Celts and Killeeshil St. Mary’s clubs in Tyrone, along with Ulster University, Jordanstown, Parnells in London, Central Coast GAA in Australia and she played for Ireland v Australia in the inaugural Masters Compromise Rules challenge in 2024.

Catriona worked as a Schools coach for Ulster GAA for 10 years, delivering a key stage one Fundamental skills programme in schools around Antrim, Armagh and Down. Catriona was also employed by Tyrone GAA as a Schools GAA coach for four years. She is a GAA woman through and through, steeped in the sport all of her life. A London-based Pilates instructor, and a Tyrone farmer (she flew home each weekend to tend the family farm), her life has been turned upside down following the accident in France and she is now a wheelchair user.

Monies raised at the Golf event will be passed directly to Catriona as she navigates life following this life-altering accident. Catriona requires extensive home modification and intensive therapy and treatment.
