All Ireland Success for Minor Doubles
Tyrone enjoyed a memorable day on the national stage as both their Minor Doubles teams claimed All-Ireland titles with impressive victories over Wexford.

First into action were Kayleigh McCoole (Breacach) and Mary Jo Morris (Greencastle), who captured the Girls’ Minor Doubles title with a straight-games victory over Amber Cronin-Kenny and Angel Cronin-Kenny, winning 21-14, 21-18.

The Boys’ Minor Doubles final followed, with Aaron McElhone (Carrickmore) and Owen Kelly (Loughmacrory) producing an outstanding display to overcome Wexford’s Johnny Cash and Jerry Goggins. In a contest featuring excellent shot-making and superb retrieving from both pairs, the Tyrone duo emerged victorious on a 21-16, 21-11 scoreline to complete a memorable double for the Red Hands.

In the Ladies Intermediate Doubles final, Caislin Tracey (Greencastle) and Clare Conway (Loughmacrory) were defeated in straight games by Laois sisters Aoife and Una Brophy.

The double success at minor level is a tremendous achievement for Tyrone GAA Handball and reflects the excellent work being carried out by players, coaches and clubs throughout the county.
