All Star School of Football

YOUNG footballers across Ulster will have the opportunity to learn
from some of the province’s outstanding Gaelic football superstars this
summer at the All-Star School of Football.

The exciting initiative, sponsored in its inaugural year by Armagh-
based company T-Met, is the brainchild of five of Ulster’s leading
footballing lights, with Derry’s Paddy Bradley, Armagh’s Ronan Clarke,
Antrim’s Paddy Cunningham, Tyrone’s Brian McGuigan and Down’s Benny
Coulter bringing the elite football schools to venues across the
province in August.

In order to provide the opportunity to attend one of the three-day
schools to as many young players as possible, the quintet has selected
four venues to give a full geographical spread across the north.

The first school takes place at Creggan Kickhams, Antrim, from August
13 through to 15, while Mayobridge GAC in Down, Ardboe GAC in Tyrone,
St Mary’s CBGS Belfast and Pearse Ogs GAC in Armagh will each host a
three-day school of football from Monday August 20 through to Wednesday
August 22.

The schools are open to all young players aged 13-17 who wish to
improve their own game and to receive expert coaching from some of the
game’s brightest stars.

What makes this project different is that it will be the players and
coaches who have operated at the very highest level of the game who
will be passing on their knowledge, answering questions from those in
attendance, and passing on some of the tips they have picked up over
their many years of inter-county action.

The cost of participation is £40 per head, and at the end of the three
days each of the young players will receive a kit as part of an All
Star School of Football pack, designed and manufactured by KIT
Ireland.

Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) which encourages the cardiac screening
of sports people, particularly young sportsmen and sportswomen, has
been selected as the official charity of the All Star School of
Football, and it is their logo which will be emblazoned on the kit
being used and distributed over the summer and in doing so raise
awareness of the charity.

Further information on the All Star School of Football and an
application form for participation is available by sending an enquiry
