The Tyrone Senior Camogie final between Eglish and Derrylaughan took place on Sunday at Derrytresk in front of a sizeable crowd. Eglish went into the game as clear favourites and right from the off they were on the front foot. By half time they had established a 1-7 to 0-5 lead and with Reagan Fay, Ciara Geoghegan and Leanne Donnelly leading the line they never looked troubled and restricted their opponents to a solitary score in the second half. That came in the shape of a well crafted goal from the stick of Elisha Gervin but unfortunately for Derrylaughan they were unable to build on that score and Eglish cruised to a 1-14 to 1-5 win.

Reagan Fay opened the scoring with a first minute free and this was followed up by a point from Leanne Donnelly as Eglish settled into the game. Derrylaughan got themselves up and running to tie the game at 0-2 apiece with scores from Aisling Hagan and Emma Mc Shane.

Ciara Geoghegan came more into the game hitting a goal and a point to put her side into a strong position before Aisling Hagan fired over her second point of the contest to leave a goal between the teams.

Eglish were very much on top at this stage and further points from Geoghegan and Oilibhia Farley stretched the lead to five points. With half time approaching Aisling Hagan converted a Derrylaughan free to narrow the gap but Eglish had the last say of the half with a Rhianne Mc Laughlin point to send the teams off at the break with Eglish leading 1-7 to 0-5.

The favourites were very much on top and only a couple of superb stops during each half by Derrylaughan goalkeeper Orla Donnelly prevented Eglish from stretching their lead further.

The second half saw Eglish control  possession and extend their lead with early points from Geoghegan (2) and Olibhia Farley before a further score from Geoghegan stretched the lead to eight points.

Derrylaughan threw caution to the wind and were rewarded for their efforts when a fine individual strike from Elisha Gervin deceived Eglish goalkeeper Brenda Horsfield and finished in the net. The goal reduced the deficit but did little to change the flow of the game.

Goalkeeper Orla Donnelly had to be at the top of her game late in the second half when Eglish created a number of good goal scoring chances only to be denied by the brilliance of player of the match Donnelly.

Regardless Eglish remained on top and rounded off the game with further points from Geoghegan and Leeanne Donnelly to claim the title on a final score of 1-14 to 1-05.
