Tyrone Singer songwriter Mickey Coleman has reached new heights after it was released that he has been nominated for an Irish Music Award for “top solo performer 2011”. The Ardboe man who has recently taken up residence in the USA to pursue his music career has completed a number of very successful tours on the east coast packing out theatres from New York to Florida.

Mickey who has been writing, singing and playing music from an early age has already produced two albums; Carefully Crafted, released 2008 and A Mother’s Lullaby 2010, consisting entirely of his original material. And this September brought the release of his very timely and relevant download single, Pat O’Donnell Shell to Sea.

Over the last few years, Mickey has played support to the legendary Chieftans, Cara Dillon, Steve Cooney, Francis Black, Liam Reilly and Bagatelle and has taken the Irish music scene by storm.

Mickey’s talent for penning songs, which in some way or another have shaped his life and which have captured the hearts of many in his live performances, has been well documented in songs such as ‘The Brantry Boy’, ‘My Coalisland Girl’ ‘The Holylands Belfast’ and ‘Miss You More Than Words’.
