Loughmacrory opened the scoring through Aodhan Donaghy but it was Augher that controlled the game for the remainder of the opening quarter thumping over the next five points. Midfielder Aidan McElroy contributed two of those points from play as did wing half forward Darragh Donnelly with the other point coming from corner forward Darragh Kavanagh.

Aidan Cassidy eased Augher 1-5 to 0-1 ahead in the 9th minute and that score was Augher’s last from play in the opening thirty minutes. Two Darragh Kavanagh free were sandwiched between points from Loughmacrory’s Cathaoir Gallagher and a free from Pauric Meenagh. The last point of the half also came from Pauric Meenagh from play. Half Time Score – Augher 1-7 Loughmacrory 0-4.

Augher continued their dominance after the break hitting another 2-2 with Loughmacrory replying with just 0-4 during that period. Darragh Kavanagh showed his efficiency from the dead ball with a free a penalty inside the opening ten minutes. The penalty resulted in three Loughmacrory players entering Martin Conroy’s book for yellow card offences.

The game was well wrapped up in the 49th minute when Darragh Donnelly waltzed through the Loughamcrory defence to slot home Augher’s third goal. Points from Aodhan Donaghy, Ciaran Ward and Pauric Meenagh failed to make a dent in the Augher supremacy and Darragh Kavanagh completed the scoring in the dying seconds with his fifth point of the contest. He finished the game with 1-5. Final Score – Augher 3-10 Loughmacrory 0-8.
