Battle Of The Hotshots In Ladies Senior Semi

This weekend is a busy one for Ladies club action in Tyrone with semi finals across four different grades of football down for decision.

The senior pairings see Errigal Ciaran host Aodh Ruadh in what promises to be a real cracker at Dunmoyle. Meanwhile reigning champions Macartans travel across to Greencastle to lock horns with Sperrin  Óg.

That second semi final brings together two of the best forwards in Tyrone Ladies club football and two hotshots who have been featuring regularly as top scorers for their clubs.

Macartans star Chloe Mc Caffrey bagged 3-7 last time out while Sperrin Óg ace Niamh O’Neill has been running up huge totals of late including 4-6 against Omagh in the championship.

Macartans go into the game as firm favourites and Sperrin Óg know the Clogher Valley girls possess many scoring options other than Mc Caffrey. They also know however that if they manage to keep Chloe quiet their chances of an upset win will be greatly increased. The Greencastle girls realise that they need Niamh O’Neill operating at the top of her game in attack but they need others to weigh in with a number of scores too.

It has all the hallmarks of a really entertaining game and while we cannot be sure of the outcome we can be fairly confident that Chloe Mc Caffrey and Niamh O’Neill are very likely to finish well up the list of scorers on the day.
