Big Win For Naomh Eoghan In D2

Naomh Eoghan travelled to Beragh on Tuesday evening for a rearranged fixture in Division two and a last gasp goal gave them a crucial win on a 1-17 to 2-13 score line. The Red Knights greeted the short whistle 1-6 to 0-7 in front thanks to an early Oran Treacy goal coupled with four points from the boot of Conor Owens, Eoin Devine, Conor Langan and Michael Coreless on target for the visitors.
The second half was less than two minutes old when Owens followed up a point with their second major to leave them well on top. Four Devine scores and one from Eamon McGovern helped keep Naomh Eoghan in contention but a brace each from Owens and Martin Rodgers as well as one from Paddy McCann left the home side five in front with nine minutes left to play. Langan, Devine and Conor Traynor closed the gap and while Owens scored again the winning score came deep into injury time when Piaras McSorley found the net.
