Brackaville 10km Race And 5km Fun Run Huge Success

Saturday 3rd September saw the annual Brackaville 10k Road Race 5k Fun Run take place. Over 200 walkers, fun runners and competitive athletes took part in this ever growing and popular local event hosted by Brackaville Owen Roes GAC.The Brackaville club were supporting the Children’s Hospital MRI Scanner appeal and the event was very well supported locally. A competitive field of athletes from Belfast to Ballymena to Omagh attended the race, which is steadily growing in reputation among the athletics community.

In addition to the event being a good vehicle with which to support deserving charities, the Brackaville club see it as an important way in which to bring local people together in a manner that can include the very youngest right up to the more senior members of the community. All enjoyed the club’s hospitality afterwards as refreshments were served in the clubrooms.

The race winners in their categories were:

Male    1st = Connor Magill – 33.43

2nd = Christopher Mc Peake – 34.50

3rd = Samuel Miller – 35.32

Female 1st = Elizabeth Dawson – 43.53

2nd = Angela O’Neill – 47.53

3rd = Catherine Hughes – 48.31
