Brackaville are through to a quarter final LCC Tyrone Junior Championship meeting with Drumquin after a superb second half comeback at Tattyreagh where they recovered from being ten points down early in the second half to defeat Clan na nGael 3-16 to 5-7.

In another highly entertaining game the North Tyrone side seemed destined for victory before The Roes showed considerable heart and spirit to edge it with four late points and claim their first championship win in five years.

CNG began well with Danny Ball, Shea Browne and Damien Ball leading the way. Browne and Danny Ball both hit the net for the Gaels but Sean Mc Nally kept his side in it with a fine goal.

Playing against the wind and with six minutes of the first half remaining the East Tyrone side were well in the game. However two goals in the closing minutes from Danny and Adrian Ball sent CNG in at the break leading 4-5 to 1-6.

Rian Mc Hugh hit the opening point of the second half but Shea Browne responded with a goal to stretch the CNG lead to ten points. Things were looking grim for The Roes but a run of 1-5 without reply asked questions of the North Tyrone men. Points from Terence Mc Gaghey and Danny Ball eased the pressure temporarily before Sean Day hit the net with Brackaville’s third goal.

As the game entered the last ten minutes CNG looked tired and struggled to create chances against the strong breeze. Brackaville on the other hand sensed there was an opportunity and went for broke. Dale Mc Sorley levelled the game as the clock ticked into added time. Ronan Mc Hugh then landed two huge points from out wide on the right to put Brackaville two up before Mc Sorley sealed the win with a late point just before the final whistle.

Final score Brackaville 3-16, Clan na nGael 5-7
