Sunday 24.08.2025
Brackaville 2-16 3-12 Tattyreagh
Ten points down with twelve minutes remaining, Brackaville staged a remarkable recovery to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Tattyreagh will be left to ponder how they let this one slip, but credit Brackaville who played to the final whistle in a pulsating preliminary round Junior championship contest in Augher.
Tattyreagh got the game’s opening two scores before Coly Mimnagh produced a super double save to deny Daire Fee and then Ronan McHugh on the rebound in the fifth minute. The game was level by the 8th minute, before Tattyreagh began to assume control. Gareth Mimnagh was excellent throughout at full forward and struck for a 10th minute goal. The lead was stretched to five before Jason O’Neill hit a two pointer to stem the tide for the Roes. A Keelan McDonagh goal and a second point from Peader Mullan saw Tattyreagh lead by nine before Ronan McHugh’s two pointer reduce the deficit to seven at the break.

The opening 10 minutes of the second half saw Tattyreagh hit the crossbar, see Fearghall Armstrong pick up a red card and score a third goal in the 40th minute through Peadar Mullan which seemed to confirm the result.
The unlikely comeback began with an O’Neill two point free. The gap was closed to six with five remaining before Mimnagh produced a great save to deny Daire Carberry. The rebound cannoned back off the post. Stephen McNulty’s men kept the pressure on and Daire Fee set up the grandstand finish when he smashed home after O’Neill’s lofted 45 had bobbled about the square.O’Neillninth of the evening left two between them as the game entered three added minutes. In the final minute McHugh passed to Carberry whose shot struck the underside of the bar but fell to Conor Stock to poke home and clinch victory and set up a meeting with Brocagh.
