Brocagh came from behind this evening in a low scoring affair at Healy Park to defeat Dregish 1-6 to 1-4 in the preliminary round of the Hunky Dorys Junior championship. Having struggled for long periods to get into the game or score the East Tyrone outfit hit the last four points of the evening to come from two behind and edge it by two.
Dregish will look back on this as an opportunity lost as they squandered several great chances to build a substantial lead in the first half and failed to convert a super goal chance late in the game which would surely have won it for them. The Pearse Ogs made a great start when Patrick Creesh found the net straight from the throw in. However they failed to build on this and a Justin Campbell penalty and two Michael Hughes points sent the sides in level at the break.
Once again Dregish began the second half well and nine minutes in moved two ahead following a brace of points from Johnny Doherty. Once again they lacked the guile to capitalise on their possession and opportunities and Brocagh made them pay with their strong last quarter as Hughes, Carolan and second half sub Sean Mc Fall hit the all important scores that sent the Emmetts through on a final score pf 1-6 to 1-4.
