Brockagh secured the Grade 3 Under 21 championship in Garvaghey on Tuesday night following a narrow one point win over Eskra. Played in almost perfect conditions both sides were level at the break. During the opening period Eskra fired 2-2 with the two goals coming from Ryan Brogan and a well struck Conor O’Hagan penalty. Brockagh shot 0-8 during the opening thirty minutes with Cathal Donnelly, Padraig Bell, Sean McFall and Michael Carolan all recording points.

After the break both sides fired a number of wides and during the third quarter Brockagh had goalkeeper Daniel Davidson to thank after he pulled off a wonderful save to deny Cathal Meegan a goal. Both team shared points in the opening twenty minutes of the half with Aaron Kelly and Thomas Meegan registering points for Eskra and Donal Robinson and Colm McFall on target for Brockagh.

With ten minutes to go Brockagh finally got through for the decisive score. A long ball into the box from Cathal Donnelly was fisted down by Sean McFall. James McKeever was first to react and he cooly fired the shot low into the corner of the Eskra net. Eskra fought back with two more points from Thomas Meegan and Conor O’Hagan to leave four between the sides going into injury time.

The late Eskra pressure was rewarded with a 63rd minute goal in injury time to reduce the Brockagh lead to a single point but that was enough to see them over the line. Final Score – Brockagh 1-13 Eskra 3-6.
