Donaghmore missed out on the opportunity to win their first ever BT Faul Cup title when they were defeated 0-8 to 0-3 by Aquinas College Belfast in today’s final in Lurgan. The first half was a poor, low scoring affair which saw both sides register only two points each with Darren Litter and Colm Loughran getting the scores for the Tyrone school. Indeed it was Loughran who knocked over the opening score of the second half to edge his side ahead but Donaghmore failed to score for the remainder of the game. St Joseph’s midfielder Marcus Mulgrew picked up a heavy knock early in the second half and once he was moved to full forward Aquinas midfielder and man of the match Donal Mc Keever dominated the game from then on. The Belfast player scored four points for his team as he drove them to the title and a thoroughly deserved five point margin of victory.
