Hot favourites for the Junior Championship Éire Óg took charge of the junior final early on with points from Aoibhinn Daly and Niamh McElduff who followed up with a goal, all in the early minutes. Siobhan Donnelly opened the scoring for Brocagh but by this stage Carrickmore were in cruise control. There were excellent performances by the two early scorers and also Sorcha Gormley and their defence dealt well with several loughshore attacks. There were some hotly contested midfield battles  and an unusual goal from Brocagh, but the result was never in doubt.

Naomh Treasa met Edendork in the Intermediate final in what was expected to be a very competitive contest. Most spectators were expecting it to be a close contest with little between the sides. As it turned out the Dungannon girls produced a superb team performance in which player of the match Roisin Mc Erlean hit 4-4 of her team’s 7-13 total. But this was no one player show with every one of the Dungannon girls contributing handsomely to the win.

Edendork will be disappointed with the outcome but will point to the number of superb stops and goal line clearances from the Naomh Treasa defence as evidence that they are making progress and will continue to challenge for honours.
