The county under 14s travelled to Dublin to participate in the All Ireland Blitz on Saturday. Tyrone entered two teams with over 40 camogs in Division 4 and 5 of the competition. The games were all played at the Naomh Mearnóg facility in Portmarnock with each match of twelve minutes each side duration.

The division 4 team was captained by Kira Donnelly of Father Shields, Greencastle. The Red Hands narrowly lost their first game to Mayo by a single point. The second match followed straight afterwards and a three point defeat to Cavan followed. A convincing win over Kildare by 11 points set up a last game against Meath to decide the finalists. It was a gruelling schedule which saw the team play four matches in a row over nearly three hours and a fatigued team lost out narrowly to the Royals.

In the division five group Tyrone beat Louth convincingly in their first match but a heavy defeat by Kildare followed. Louth were up next and Tyrone held out for a narrow victory which booked their place in the final. It was a close final in the end however Tyrone just fell short. They did come away with runner-up medals. A gracious speech from Tyrone captain Eimear McLaughlin ended the proceedings.

Tyrone County Board would like to thank all the managers namely Shannon McCaffery, Fionnuala McGrath and Deirdre Fitzgerald for their help throughout the day. Mentor Siobhan Donnelly was on club duty in Dublin with her team Brocagh who were playing in the Kilmacud sevens and they won 2 out of 3 games.
