CAMOGIE| Victory For Brocagh In Junior Semi

Brocagh and Edendork played for a place in the Junior championship final on Wednesday evening in a very wet Edendork. It was Edendork’s first taste of championship camogie for many years as their youth have now progressed to the senior ranks.
The first few minutes of the half were played at a blistering pace with Brocagh hitting two early goals inside the first three minutes. It was a very one sided affair with the away team taking their points with ease from all angles of the field. After just fifteen minutes they had added a further five points.
Edendork eventually found their feet and got to the pace of the game and added a goal on the twenty minute mark. Both teams then traded a few wides before Brocagh added the final point of the half to leave the score at the break Brocagh 2-6 Edendork 1-0.
The second half started with Brocagh landing their third goal almost immediately. Edendork replied with one of their own after five minutes. Following that exchange of scores the game then became an even contest throughout the remainder of the second half with both teams adding a further two points apiece.
There were several goal mouth scrambles at both ends during the half but in spite of the pressure the two defences held firm. The game ended rather tamely with the scoreboard reading Brocagh 3-8 Edendork 2-2. Brocagh will now meet Éire Óg in the final.
