For the second year running Errigal Ciaran are senior league champions after a deserved five point success over Coalisland on Sunday afternoon and their manager Peter Canavan paid tribute to the effort that the players have put in all year especially after losing to the Fianna in the championship.
“The fellas have put in a great effort all year and it’s nothing short of what they deserve. We were very unlucky that Coalisland beat us in the championship but I think that for consistency alone we deserved to win the league as we finished top of the table.
It was a big blow after losing in the championship and it took time for them to regroup but they did that and it’s testament to the players because they were devastated after that defeat. The league wasn’t easy won last year and it’s great that we have managed to retain it.”
