Cappagh ladies finished the season as Division Two league champions following a hard fought 5-9 to 3-9 win over a talented Edendork side at Garvaghy on Wednesday night. Goals win matches and three majors from Kerry Quinn went a long way to securing the win.

Edendork started strongly with points from Maeve Maxwell Laura Kelly and Tara Jane Murphy before Cappagh responded with two points from Laura Corcoran after fifteen minutes. Cappagh hit the front with a goal from Teri Mc Cusker followed by a brace of goals from Kerry Quinn. Edendork responded with a goal from Laura Kelly but two points from Mc Cusker and Porter steadied the Cappagh ship. However Edendork finished the half strongly with Maeve Maxwell finishing the half with two more points to leave the halftime score Edendork 1-5 Cappagh 3-4.

Cappagh began the second half with a superb Kate Mc Aleer point right from the throw in. They added points from Ashleen Porter, Laura Corcoran and Grainne Mc Cann followed by a Teri Mc Cusker goal to put her team twelve points up.

Edendork dug deep and goals from Sinead Mc Geary and a Maeve Maxwell penalty brought it back to six with fifteen minutes to play. Three more points from play from Maxwell brought it to to a three point game and the nerves began to jangle. However with five minutes left the attack minded defender Kerry Quinn scored her third goal of the night after a super pass from McCusker to settle the game and seal the win.

Final score
Edendork 3-9
Cappagh 5-9
