Record O’Neill Cup winners Carrickmore are through to another semi final after beating Coalisland in a cracking encounter at Healy Park on Friday night. The St.Colmcilles dominated the first half with Martin Penrose and Conor Gormley both scores goals. Plunkett McCallan saved a late penalty from Plunkett Kane, the Fianna having centre half back Niall Kerr straight red carded in the first half. The introduction of Stephen McNally sparked a Fianna revival as he had a hand in both goals which were scored by Tiarnan O’Hagan and a penalty from Gerard Toner. Toner also hit three points as Coalisland got back on level terms but it was Carrickmore’s night as they came through 2-8 to 2-6. Paul McAleer, Penrose, Mickey McCallan , Mickey Donaghy and Caolan Daly all got points for the winners, the Fianna ended up with thirteen men after McNally picked up a second booking in the closing minutes.
