Carrickmore Overcome Gallant Trillick Side
Saturday 07.07.2012
Carrickmore and Trillick served up an entertaining spectacle this evening at Pairc Cholmcille before the home side ran out 1-12 to 2-07 winners. The sides were level ten minutes into the game following two points each from Finbarr Magill and Richard Donnelly before Pauric Slane and Finbarr Magill added to the Carmen total. However Trillick responded well and were soon level 0-4 apiece. There was very little between the sides with Richard Donnelly driving Trillick on and as half time approached there was only two between them with Carrickmore leading 0-07 to 0-05.
A Johnny Munroe goal gave the home team some breathing space as they moved 1-8 to 0-5 ahead but Trillick continued to push forward and were rewarded when Stevie O’Donnell plundered a goal to close the gap to three points. A Donnelly free reduced the gap to two before points from Kevin Mc Nally, Micky Mc Callen, Barry Daly and Conor Mullan put Carrickmore into a commanding lead. Richard Donnelly narrowed the gap with a free with ten minutes left and the gap was further reduced when Eunan Mc Anespie hit Trillick’s second goal right on full time. Final score Carrickmore 1-12, Trillick 2-7.
