Errigal Ciaran 1-6 Carrickmore 0-10

Carrickmore will play Dungannon in the Division one league final next Saturday after they held off the challenge of Errigal Ciaran in Dunmoyle on Sunday afternoon to edge the verdict by the minimum margin.

The home side fielded without any of their starters from their historical Ulster Final victory over Kilcoo last weekend but they still troubled their opponents throughout the sixty odd minutes. Danny Fullerton had opened the scoring but he was then sent off after only seven minutes which was a big blow to the St.Colmcilles. Despite that setback wind assisted Carrickmore still greeted the short whistle 0-7 to 0-2 in front thanks to four points from full forward Rory Donnelly as well as efforts from his brother Sean and Lorcan McGarrity, Dara McGinley and Aaron McAnenly the Errigal Ciaran marksmen.

In the opening twenty minutes of the second half Errigal Ciaran hit four unanswered points to really put the cat among the pigeons. Mark Kavanagh began the ball rolling with a free before hitting a brilliant brace from play before Ronan McRory pointed as well. McGarrity finally opened Carrickmore’ second half account from a free and after Ciaran Cuddy pointed with his fist touch after coming on McGarrity knocked over another free. With time running out McGarrity was blacked carded before substitute Tom Loughran punched to the net deep into injury time. Carrickmore were hanging on but they managed to do just that to set up that title decider with the Clarkes.

Errigal Ciaran scorers: Mark Kavanagh 0-3 (1F), Tom Loughran 1-0, Dara McGinley 0-1, Aaron McAnenly 0-1, Ronan McRory 0-1

Carrickmore scorers: Rory Donnelly 0-4 (1M, 1F), Lorcan McGarrity 0-3 (3F), Danny Fullerton 0-1 (45), Sean Donnelly 0-1, Ciaran Cuddy 0-1
