Carrickmore 6-15 Loughmacrory 1-7
Carrickmore turned on the style in the second half at Beragh on Saturday afternoon to defend their Grade 1U16 League title when they proved too strong for neighbours Loughmacrory.
Lorcan Meenagh and Vincent Gormley exchanged the opening points before a lobbed effort from Meenagh sailed all the way to the net. Centre half forward Meenagh tagged on another point in the 18th minute but the rest of the first half belonged to Carrickmore. Conal Loughran and Gormley had points before Hugh Duff landed Loughmacrory’s last score of the half. Brayden McNally bagged a goal and Gormley and McNally added points to leave it 1-6 to 1-3 at halftime.
In the opening seconds after the restart Finbar Donaghy got another Carrickmore goal and the winners never looked back. McNally and Donaghy both got further goals and there were points from Lorcan Dobbs, Gormley Aaron McElhone and Paudi McCallan as they ran out convincing winners. Meenagh got all of his side’s second half scores including a superb two pointer.
