Carrickmore Into U21 Final

Carrickmore advanced to the grade one U21 Final when they edged past Galbally at Healy Park on Saturday evening. The St.Colmcilles got off to a dream start with a Patrick McElduff goal but the Pearses responded with a major of their own from Conor Donaghy. Points from Danny Fullerton, Ciaran Daly and Stephen Grogan saw Carrickmore lead 1-7 to 1-2 at the break.

Grogan increased his side’s lead on the restart and with the wind at their backs Carrickmore looked to be in a strong position. Daniel Kerr and Cormac Donnelly though took over in midfield and goals from Donaghy and Darragh Traynor coupled with a Mark Donnelly point saw the Pearses hit the front with ten minutes to go. Fullerton levelled and Daly put Carrickmore in front only for Mark Donnelly to level matters. With just a minute left to play in normal time it looked set for extra time until scores from Rory Donnelly and Daly won the day as it finished 1-14 to 3-6. Carrickmore play Dungannon in next weekend’s final.
