Carrickmore Win Grade One U13 Title

Carrickmore upset the odds with a superb 1-10 to 2-6 victory over warm favourites Moortown in the grade one U13 final at Kildress on Saturday afternoon. The young St.Malachys led 1-4 to 0-6 at the break with Eunan Devlin getting their goal, Conor Loughran and Ciaran Daly with Carrickmore points. When Michael Donnelly got a second goal for Moortown they looked set for victory as they led by four with time running out but a Tiarnan Murray goal coupled with a Patrick McElduff point levelled matters before James Devlin missed a last minute Moortown penalty. In added time Daly scored the winning point for the delighted St.Colmcilles.
