Tyrone midfielder Aidan Cassidy looked a sorry sight leaving Croke Park on Sunday following the Division One National League Final clash with Dublin. The big Augher man injured his ankle in the closing stages of the match when competing for a Dublin kickout with less than five minutes remaining. ” I landed awkwardly and knew there was something wrong. The manager wanted me to switch into full forward for the last few minutes but I wasn’t able to move and had to come off.”
The ankle is still quite badly swollen but Cass is hoping it won’t keep him out of action for too long. ” I am able to walk on it today and I have been icing it which has helped with the swelling. I will see the physios tonight and hopefully I am able to return to training sooner rather than later.”
Cassidy has been getting plenty of action in recent games coming on as an impact sub and certainly making an impact. ” I have been getting a fair bit of game time alright and am enjoying my football at the minute. Hopefully this injury won’t keep me out too long and I will be back competing for a place on the panel for the Donegal game.”

Playing the way he is at present most Tyrone supporters would certainly agree with him on that one.
