Thursday night sees the draw for the LCC Senior, Intermediate and Junior Championship taking place at Garvaghey. All three draws will be streamed live from the headquarters of Tyrone GAA with county PRO Eugene Mc Connell looking forward to an event that is sure to draw a lot of interest across the county and among the diaspora.

“Last year we decided to stream live the actual Tyrone Club Championship draws with our new sponsor LCC coming on board. The overwhelming success of the entire event has made an easy decision to do likewise again this year.”

This Thursday 28th Feb is the date and once again Gaels all over the world will be able to tune in and see who their local parish team will face in the first round of the Club Championship.

Eugene knows from experience just how eagerly anticipated the draw is: “The Tyrone Club Championships is always of keen interest to not only Tyrone Gaels but to a much wider audience and the decision to broadcast the event live proved a hugely popular one with a massive uptake in viewers from all parts of the world.”

The unique occasion last year brought together the three winning captains from the Senior, Intermediate and Junior Champions of 1968 and the memories they shared were true to what the Championship means to each and every team.

As part of the build up to this year’s draws the three winning captains from 2018 namely Newtownstewart’s Damian Coyle, Tattyreagh’s Niall Keys and Coalisland’s Stephen “Mackers” Mc Nally will be on hand to assist with the draw and reflect on what it meant to bring the championship back to their clubs.

It is hoped to involve each of the current Tyrone Club Captains in both Football and Hurling as well as the representatives from the 3 sides that captured the Senior, Intermediate and Junior titles 50 years ago this year namely Charraig Mhór, Edendork and Moortown

Compére on the night will be the Communications Committee’s own Paddy Hunter ably assisted by the LCC’s representative Adrian Scullin and CCC Chairperson Eunan Lindsay. The trio will ensure proceedings are managed in a professional manner. All club chairpersons and secretaries have been cordially invited to attend the draw.

Please take note the draws for the 2019 LCC Group Tyrone Club Championships will take place this Thursday 28th February June at 7.30pm sharp in Garvaghey.

One highlight of the evening will involve every Football and Hurling Club captains being present to oversee the draw. Each team captain will be rigged out in their full Club colours. A special one off historic group photo will be taken to capture the event.

All Clubs are requested to ensure their Team Captain is present on the night at 7pm.
