Following a meeting of the GAA’s Ard Comhairle in Croke Park on Tuesday evening some new arrangements were put into place regarding the National Hurling League arrangements for 2012. There will now be four divisions of six teams in the higher reaches of the league which will see Divisions 1A and 1B competing for the Division One honours and two further sets of six teams in Division 2A and 2B. From a Tyrone perspective the county team will complete in what will be known as the “Tain” section with the groupings listed below.

Allianz Hurling League Táin Division will be played off on a separate basis until an overall review in 2013.

Louth, Fingal, Donegal, Sligo, Monaghan, Tyrone

Five Rounds in Section A
Top two teams contest the Final
Bottom teams contest Relegation Play Off and the losing team is relegated.

Fermanagh, Longford, Leitrim and Warwickshire*
