Dungannon made the drop straight back down to Intermediate football for next season after losing to neighbours Donaghmore in a sudden death playoff at O’Neill Park on Sunday afternoon.

There was little between the sides in the first half with the St.Patricks shading matters 0-5 to 0-4 thanks to efforts from Deasun Quinn, Peter McKenna and Cormac McCann, Matthew Walsh, Declan Treanor and Daniel Grimley on target for the Clarkes.

Quinn opened the second half scoring for Donaghmore and when McCann grabbed a 34th minute goal they were in control. Three minutes later the superb David Walsh won a penalty but Keifer Morgan’s spot kick was well saved by keeper John Gallagher. Patrick Quinn and Deasun Quinn exchanged points with Patrick Molloy on target for Dungannon as well. Donaghmore though were the better side and points from McCann, McKenna and Shea Hamill were followed by a late goal from substitute Matthew McGahan as it finished 2-10 to 1-7.
