Tyrone U16 Grade 2 Championship Final
Dungannon 3-7 Beragh 1-6
3 goals in six minutes midway through the second half ensured that Dungannon lifted the Grade 2 Under 16 championship in Omagh.
Little separated the sides until the goal spree. Dungannon having led 4-3 at the break. Cormac McErlean kicking two excellent points in the opening period for the Clarkes. With Cathal Farley and Oisin Porter on target for Beragh.
Jack Devlin levelled the game in the opening minute of the second half. Beragh’s best player, Cathal Farley, produced two wonderful blocks in quick succession to deny Dungannon. Eoin Rodgers kicked his second of the contest for Dungannon, but this was cancelled out by Aidan Farley.
In the 42nd minute, a great Max McKenna catch created the chance for Deje Gonzalez to pass to McErlean for the crucial first goal. In the next attack, Dungannon struck for their second goal, and Eoin Spence calmly finished the rebound after his initial effort was well saved by Enda Lynch.
The game was over in the 48th minute when Senan McCann converted a penalty after Spence had been fouled following a super Ronan Daly pass.
Despite the best efforts of Cathal Farley a late Eoghan Loughran fisted goal was all Beragh could show for their gallant efforts.
