It was Slaughtmanus who scored first with a Conor McGee point in the first minute but Cillian Barkey and Marc McConnell soon had Clogher ahead. Ciaran Bogue’s 11th minute rocket to the net helped the Tyrone champions on their way to a 1-4 to 0-1 lead.

Conaire Molloy finished a goal for Slaughtmanus to change the tempo of the game but a second Clogher goal was the key score. A long ball to Ryan McGaughey caught the Slaughtmanus defence napping and he made a simple palmed finish for McConnell.

Trailing 2-5 to 2-4 at the break, Slaughtmanus had the perfect start to the second half with a McGee penalty after he himself had been fouled. It was to be their last score for  25 minutes as Clogher took complete control and a second Bogue major ended the game as a contest midway through the half.

Goalkeeper Rory McElroy helped bring confidence to his defence that closed the door for long periods of the game. At the other end, Ryan McGaughey used his accuracy and composure for Clogher to keep the scoreboard ticking before quickfire goals from Conor Shields and Bogue cemented victory for the Tyrone champions.

McGee and David Quigg struck consolation points for Slaughtmanus but Clogher were not to be denied and they finished up very comfortable winners at the end.
