Clogher See Off Sigersons
Saturday 24.05.2025
Clogher defeated Strabane on the road on Friday night 1-9 to 0-11 with their goal seventeen minutes into the second half from Michael Mc Caughey proving to be the key score of the game.
At that time Sigersons had managed to close a three point half time deficit to tie the scores with points from Oran White, Eoin Haire and Kelvin Nelson. However in spite of the best efforts of the Sigersons forward line Clogher held out for a one point win. Points from Finbarr Mc Kenna and Barry Mc Kenna were the key scores for Clogher as they continued on their winning ways.
Clogher began the game well with a brace of two pointers from Marc Mc Connell as the visitors looked set to run up a big score. However points from Odhran Mc Grath (2) and Haydn Mc Namee (2) kept Strabane in the contest as they trailed by three at the break.

Strabane played some decent football and looked to be building a head of steam when they drew level midway through the second half following Kelvin Nelson’s fine score. Clogher’s response from Micael Mc Caughey was immediate and put them three clear.
The closing minutes of the game saw Sigersons push hard for the draw but solid defending by the visitors kept the home side at bay and they failed to get the score that would have given them a share of the points.
