Clones more likely than Ballybofey for Tyrone and Donegal
Saturday 19.01.2013

The Tyrone v Donegal game in the opening round of the 2013 Ulster Senior Football Championship looks increasingly like it is heading to Clones after the Donegal Development Officer Michael McMenamin admitted that the funding was still not in place to upgrade the ground. Health and Safety officials have demanded that over £80,000 worth of work was needed to prepare the ground before the clash on Sunday 26th May.
The capacity of the venue was slashed recently as the Slattery report docked the top-line figure to around 12,500 from the 18,500 it had previously been able to accommodate. Reports coming from the Donegal suggest that all of the funding to complete the upgrade is not in place and tenders for the work have still not gone out.
It would seems then that Tyrone will be making the short trip to Clones to take on the All Ireland champions as many thought the case would be.
